“Reviewed By Philip Van Heusen for Readers’ Favorite

Homelessness is a significant problem in the world. Often, we forget that animals are faced with homelessness, too. Too often, cats and dogs leave their homes for assorted reasons. Boisterous Bootsy’s Chance: How a Lost and Lonely Kitty Learned to Trust by Teresa A. McBride does an excellent job of presenting how being without a family affects all. Bootsy (a cat) finds a home that has already adopted several fur babies. He feels he must control the house or be cast out. His behavior is unacceptable. Through love and acceptance, Bootsy learns to trust. He then goes about helping other fur kids who are homeless. Every fur baby deserves a loving home. Bootsy’s humans have even adopted a three-legged cat. Differently-abled fur babies also deserve love and acceptance.

Teresa A. McBride has authored a wonderful little allegory. Boisterous Bootsy’s Chance is about the need to rescue animals, especially cats and dogs. However, I believe the message goes much deeper. Adoption takes a community. Bootsy learns about a forever home and then makes it his goal to help others find forever homes. There is also a significant problem with homelessness among human children. So often, when an adoption occurs, the child will push the limits to see if they are accepted and loved. This book will help children understand the struggle and help parents learn how to unconditionally accept the child. Read this book with your adoptive child and your other children. Help them learn proper behavior and why true love is unconditionally accepting.”
